Thankful for Thursday

Thankful for Thursday is a meme hosted by Oasis for YA. The goal is to find things to be thankful about and share it with the Oasis for YA community. So what am I thankful for this Thursday?

All the wonderful people I met at the OWFI conference. It was great to see familiar faces like Jennifer McMurrain (even though she didn’t bring any cupcakes),  Christine Denise Jarmola (who keeps me up to date on sales at Dillard’s and celebrity spottings in her town), and Jeanne Hagy to name a few.

I look forward to learning more about all the people I met this year, including:

  • Olyve Hallmark Abbott, frequent speaker, as well as author of paranormal and true ghost stories @ Fort Worth Writers
  • Linda Apple, Writing from the Soul, Speaking from the Heart @
  • Trissa Brown, psychological suspense writer
  • E.L.Chappel, suspense writer @
  • Tommie Grinnell, who also placed in the contest
  • Anne Hanovich (whom I have a crazy amount of things in common with), YA suspense/espionage writer
  • Thomas Long, Retired Soldier, Scientist, Teacher, hard sci-fi writer
  • Dianne McCartney, freelance writer
  • Carol Shenold, urban fantasy writer @
  • Amy Shojai, certified animal behavior consultant, nonfiction and fiction author @ Amy Shojai’s blog
  • Debbie Smart, chair of the nostalgia prose category
  • Patricia Tierney, adult thriller/young adult fantasy writer
I’m thankful for your kindness and the time we spent together.

I’m glad you had such a great time. It’s fun to meet people after all these months of connecting via the internet.

It was an awesome experience. Meeting and spending time with other writers is so important.
